On January 24th, Donald Trump's confrontational stance towards Canada has unexpectedly benefited one entrepreneur who turned the U.S. president's aggressive rhetoric into a business opportunity.

Liam Mooney, the founder of a design firm in Ottawa, created hats bearing the slogan "Canada is Not for Sale" in response to Trump's tariff threats and his suggestion of Canada becoming the 51st U.S. state.

These hats gained attention when Ontario Premier Doug Ford sported one during a meeting with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other provincial leaders in Ottawa. The gathering was held to address Trump's proposal to impose tariffs on Canadian imports.

Since then, tens of thousands of hats have been ordered online, according to Mooney. He explained that the hats were designed as a creative response to Trump's rhetoric, with the aim of conveying a message of nationalism and unity that transcends political divisions.

Mooney emphasized, It's an opportunity to unite people from various sectors of society, regardless of their political beliefs.

The implementation of tariffs could severely impact Canada's economy and result in increased prices for oil and other goods in the United States.

During a time of political uncertainty in Canada, with Prime Minister Trudeau planning to step down in March after almost a decade in office, and the opposition Conservatives leading in the polls before a federal election later this year, Mooney and his business partner felt compelled to create the hats after watching Ford's interview on Fox News.

In the interview, the host suggested that annexation would be a privilege for Canada, to which Ford responded firmly that Canada is not up for sale.

Trump, speaking via video at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, emphasized the need for respect from Canada and previously referred to Trudeau as "Governor."

Regarding this, Mooney stressed, Our sovereignty is at risk when our honor is not upheld. We have allies and friends worldwide prepared to defend us and stand united.
