EssilorLuxottica announced on Monday that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved their over-the-counter Nuance audio glasses. Combining hearing solutions with prescription glasses, Nuance will launch in the U.S. and Italy in the first quarter of this year and in other European countries, including France, Germany, and the UK, by the first half of 2025.
Describing Nuance as a fusion of two medical devices, Chairman and CEO Francesco Milleri highlighted, We created entirely new smart glasses that are groundbreaking and incredibly accessible. We are now focused on making this life-changing technology available to people.
The company aims to reach approximately 1.25 billion individuals worldwide who have mild to moderate hearing loss with Nuance.
