British Prime Minister Keir Starmer is traveling to Brussels on Monday to urge Europe to increase efforts in ensuring the region's security against President Vladimir Putin's Russia and intensify actions to dismantle his "war machine."

During his visit, which is part of his post-Brexit engagements with the European Union, Starmer will meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and have dinner with leaders from the 27 member states, marking the first such meeting for a British leader post-Brexit.

His focus will be on rallying European allies to escalate pressure on Putin. Starmer plans to emphasize the importance of cooperation, stating, We need to see all allies stepping up - particularly in Europe, as provided by his office at Downing Street.

I'm here to collaborate with our European partners in maintaining pressure, specifically targeting energy revenues and companies supplying his missile factories to disable Putin's war machinery, Starmer will assert.

Having won a significant election in July, Starmer has been dedicated to improving relations post-Brexit. The government aims to streamline trade by eliminating certain regulations to stimulate growth.

However, doubts regarding a potential EU-UK youth mobility scheme were raised by Interior Minister Yvette Cooper. She expressed reservations, stating, We've been clear that we need net migration to come down, highlighting that such an approach does not align with the government's strategy.
