A woman has filed civil lawsuits against Neil Gaiman and his ex-wife in the US, alleging that the British author sexually assaulted her.

The lawsuits were filed in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, and New York, accusing Gaiman and Amanda Palmer of violating federal human trafficking laws. The allegations include assault, battery, emotional distress against Gaiman, and negligence against Palmer. The woman is seeking at least $7 million (£5.6 million) in damages.

Gaiman, 64, known for works like *Good Omens*, *American Gods*, and *The Sandman*, which have been adapted for television, has refuted sexual misconduct claims made by eight women. He stated, I have never engaged in non-consensual sexual activity with anyone. Ever.

According to the lawsuits, the woman was befriended by Palmer at 22 while homeless in New Zealand, and the assaults began when she started working for the couple. Palmer allegedly mentioned previous complaints from over a dozen women.

Gaiman admitted being careless with people's hearts and feelings and expressed regret for not handling situations better. However, he firmly stated that he does not accept there was any abuse.
