Swedish authorities announced the arrest of a man for attempting to breach the gates of the Russian embassy in Stockholm early Tuesday. The 45-year-old suspect was apprehended for aggravated trespass. The police provided no details about his identity or motive. The car involved in the incident was found to contain nothing suspicious.
The Russian embassy reported that an incident involving a Ukrainian citizen living in Sweden had occurred and caused no significant damage. The embassy stated, The culprit of the incident is well known to the Embassy and the local police.
When asked for further information, Swedish police declined, with a spokesperson stating, We do not disclose the nationalities of individuals in custody.
