At the World Economic Forum in Davos, U.S. President Donald Trump expressed his keenness to swiftly meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin to bring an end to the conflict in Ukraine and discuss the reduction of nuclear weapons. Despite previous assertions, his advisors now acknowledge that resolving the conflict will take time.

Trump stated, I really would like to be able to meet with President Putin soon to end that war. He emphasized the human toll of the conflict, saying, It's a carnage. And we really have to stop that war.

Trump revealed his readiness to engage in talks with Putin, stating, "I'd meet immediately," underscoring the urgency of the situation. He mentioned Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy's willingness to negotiate for peace.

Furthermore, Trump announced intentions to pursue nuclear arms reduction, suggesting that Russia and China might be amenable to similar reductions. He emphasized, "We'd like to see denuclearization", citing positive feedback from President Putin.

As the discourse continues, Trump shared plans for imposing sanctions on Russia and tariffs if a resolution is not reached. Putin's recent actions, including the rejection of arms-related negotiations with the U.S., present challenges to the disarmament efforts.
