KYIV, Feb 4 (Reuters) - President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated on Tuesday that his team had been in communication with U.S. President Donald Trump's national security adviser and top envoy this week to coordinate a visit by a U.S. delegation.

Kyiv has been striving to forge strong ties with the new Trump administration, which has expressed a desire to swiftly resolve the nearly three-year-old conflict with Russia.

We already have tentative dates for the arrival of the American team. Currently, the dates and members of the delegation are being finalized, and we eagerly await their arrival to collaborate, he announced during a press briefing.

Zelenskiy mentioned that his chief of staff, Andriy Yermak, had conversed with Trump's National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, and that discussions had taken place with Keith Kellogg, Trump's special envoy for Ukraine and Russia, the day before.

Yermak reported in his discussion with Waltz about the situation on the battlefield and advancements in the mobilization to reinforce Ukrainian forces.

The Ukrainian statement indicated that they also deliberated on arranging personal interactions between Zelenskiy and Trump.

Trump has not revealed his strategy for resolving the conflict in Ukraine.

He suggested on Monday that Kyiv provide rare earth minerals and other resources to the United States in exchange for financial backing for Ukraine's military endeavors.

Zelenskiy's conversation with Trump referred to discussions from a meeting in September where the Ukrainian President presented a "victory plan" to his allies. The plan specifically called for allies to assist in developing the country's critical resources.

In response to Trump's remarks, Zelenskiy emphasized during a Kyiv briefing that: I addressed this matter back in September when we met with President Trump.

He expressed Ukraine's willingness to engage in partnerships with allies supporting its defense efforts.

We are receptive to the prospect of developing this further with partners who are assisting us in safeguarding our territory, confronting the adversary with their resources, presence, and sanctions. This is entirely fair.
